Orthodontics Dental

treatments for straighter, more natural looking teeth

If only everyone’s teeth were naturally straight and aligned, but sadly this isn’t always the case. Teeth have an unfortunate habit of deciding to go in the wrong direction, or sometimes there are just too many teeth to fit comfortably in the mouth. This can cause discomfort, especially when eating, and can make a person feel self-conscious about their smile.

At Church Street Dental we offer a range of orthodontic treatments to help realign teeth and gently guide them back into their correct position.

Sometimes patients who want orthodontic treatment are put off by the thought of wearing unsightly and uncomfortable metal braces for extended periods of time. However, today’s braces are quick, clear and discreet so no one need ever know you are even wearing them. In some cases braces are not needed at all, as clear removable aligners can do the job of straightening teeth without the use of any metal wires or brackets. At Church Street Dental we offer the following orthodontic treatments:

Six Month Smiles

A rapid (typically six months) treatment using clear brackets and tooth-coloured wires. Your teeth will be straightened quickly and almost invisibly.

Quick Straight Teeth

Clear fixed braces and removable appliances that treat only the front six teeth, making this treatment system quicker and more affordable than conventional orthodontics.

Cfast uses clear orthodontic brackets and tooth-colored nickel-titanium wires, which work much like clear aligners but usually more than twice as quickly, making it more affordable than other orthodontic options.

A series of removable clear aligners for those patients who cannot, or would rather not, wear fixed braces. As SmileTRU is virtually invisible when worn and can be removed for eating, public speaking or that special date.

MTM lingual braces

Minor Tooth Movement (MTM) lingual braces are positioned behind teeth, so they’re completely invisible, and suitable for minor orthodontic adjustments. Average treatment time is very fast – around 12-24 weeks.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Thank you for your understanding whilst the practice has been closed owing to measures to protect both staff and patients during the COVID-19 pandemic

As you may have heard, the Prime Minister has advised that dental practices can reopen from 8th June 2020.

While this is welcomed news, it comes with a range of requirements, not all of which are yet fully defined, to make sure we are able to treat patients in a way that ensures the health and safety of all concerned. This will include enhanced personal protective measures and operating at a reduced capacity, thus as a consequence we will be seeing fewer patients per day.

Please be assured that the safety of our staff and patients is of paramount importance to us. We have always been focused on infection control, and in addition to what we have always done, we are augmenting our protocols to ensure our response to COVID-19 is both comprehensive and meticulous.

Initially we will be prioritising emergency/urgent care for patients who have contacted us needing help while we have been closed and we will be in contact with them over the coming weeks.

We will be contacting patients individually to arrange appointments where appropriate at this phase of the pandemic. There will be no “walk-in” appointment requests. Patients will only be seen with prior arrangement over the telephone.

As soon as we move to providing more routine care, we will let you know.

We really appreciate you bearing with us at this very difficult time.

If you require any dental advice or information, or feel you have a dental emergency please call or email us and we can arrange a telephone consultation.
